Julia Moore

Julia partners with bold entrepreneurs building the bio-based future. She is a Managing Partner at Breakout Ventures, investing in creative bioscience companies harnessing the power of cells and computation to scale solutions in human health and sustainability. Julia has spent her career as an investor and operator, navigating the translation of new technologies in life sciences to customer adoption and scale. She has worked with multiple companies from founding through IPO or M&A. Prior to founding Breakout Ventures, Julia and her partner created a fund within Peter Thiel’s Foundation investing in breakthrough science where they incubated this thesis. In addition to the last 14 years of venture investing and operating roles, Julia trained as a research analyst on Wall Street and is also a Kaufman Fellow. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she studied Finance and Bioethics. She currently serves on the boards of Checkerspot and Immusoft, and as a board observer for STRM.bio.
